  • Havel's Greatshield: In a pot with Havel's Set behind the Forgotten Key door near The Gutter's first bonfire.
  • Wicked Eye Greatshield: Iron chest in a cave across a suspended walkway from the Central Gutter bonfire.

Walkthrough: The Gutter

  • Carry a lit torch, light every sconce (this also summons an invader later), bring poison cures and a spare weapon for breaking statues
  • Before the first bridge, smash the pot on the left for Dung Pies
  • Cross the bridge, avoid the weak floor mid-platform, cross the next bridge, then go right up the ramp and drop to the dirt below (watch the tar pools)
  • Drop off the far edge toward the wooden tower, clear the ground, climb its ladder and jump to the ledge chest with the Ring of Soul Protection
  • Jump back into the tower; the mimic there drops the Dark Armor and a lightning Winged Spear
  • Light the sconce at the far end of the ledge to bring Melinda the Butcher into your world
  • Drop down twice and head back to the bonfire, breaking a pot for a Lifegem
  • Recross the first bridge and fall through the weak floor, then handle the ambush
  • Running-jump to the platform with the torch-carrying hollow
  • The ladder here needs the Forgotten Key from Black Gulch; it leads to Havel's set and Havel's Greatshield
  • Cross the bridge, drop down the hole and break the pot for the Dark Pyromancy Flame and Rotten Pine Resins; a Swollen Mongrel lurks next door
  • Climb two ladders for a Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier, a Fragrant Branch of Yore, Twinkling Titanite, a Human Effigy and Smooth & Silky Stones
  • Cross the first rope bridge, climb for Black Firebombs, then drop twice for a Titanite Chunk in a pot
  • Drop into the next structure for the Tattered Cloth set in a pot
  • A Heide Knight waits on the dirt ledge; slaying him yields the Heide Knight Iron Mask and Heide Lance, and the nearby chest holds Aurous armour
  • Up the long ladder take the Estus Flask Shard, a Soul of a Proud Knight and the Bandit Greataxe
  • From the hollows' platform drop twice to a pot with Flame Butterfly items, then keep dropping to the rope bridge level
  • Kill the mongrel on the planks, climb to the second rope bridge and cross (exploding citizen, weak floor)
  • Cross the third bridge into the cave for the Wicked Eye Greatshield
  • Drop left into the cave of the passive Corrosive Ant Queen for Poison Moss
  • Through the fog gate (holes in the floor) smash the far wooden wall and light Central Gutter
  • Around the corner break the statues and jump to the other structure; kill the mongrel and take the Black Firebombs
  • Back through the smashed wall, take the far-left ladder (pot of Dung Pies), drop for Rotten Pine Resins, then two more ledges to the chest with the Great Club
  • After lighting every sconce, the Gutter Denizen invades; it drops Black Witch pieces
  • Pots in this area hold Dark Fog, a Torch and Lifegems
  • Destroy the corrosive pots in front of the wall hole from range, drop down for a Fragrant Branch of Yore, then pass the fog into Black Gulch and light Black Gulch Mouth
  • NG+: a Heide Knight lancer appears once and drops the Heide Greatlance
