Sinners' Rise

A flooded prison below the Bastille where the Lost Sinner, one of the four great souls, is chained.

  • Northern Ritual Band: Behind a hidden door to the right after the elevator down to the Lost Sinner in Sinners' Rise.
  • Soul of the Lost Sinner: Defeat the Lost Sinner in Sinners' Rise.
  • Old Witch Soul: Defeat the Lost Sinner in NG+ or after burning a Bonfire Ascetic at The Saltfort bonfire.

Walkthrough: Sinners' Rise / Shrine of Winter

  • From Straid's Cell go through the gate, grab the Lifegem around the right corner and head toward the fog (sniper above), then climb the ladder in the building and light The Saltfort
  • Inside take a Large Soul of a Lost Undead, go down the ladder and stairs for a Human Effigy
  • Ride the lift and jump off near the bottom for Lacerating Knifes
  • Kill the Flexile Sentry waiting below and take the Blossom Kite Shield and a Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier
  • A hidden wall to the right of the stairs leads outside; hug the left wall for the Northern Ritual Band and a Bleed Stone
  • Kill the exploding prisoners in the lower cells for a Soul of a Proud Knight and Pharros' Lockstone
  • Use the Bastille Key on an upper cell, kill the Heide Knight for the Heide Spear and take a Fire Seed
  • On the way to the fog a side alcove has a Radiant Lifegem
  • Up both stairways, unlock the doors and set the oil alight with a torch (Flame Butterfly works); take the Smooth & Silky Stone
  • Defeat The Lost Sinner; summon Lucatiel of Mirrah by the lift (4th fight) or Sellsword Luet. Light both oil pools first. Reward: Soul of the Lost Sinner and 45,000 souls
  • Take the Fragrant Branch of Yore and Elizabeth Mushroom from the chest and light the primal bonfire (Sinner's Bonfire)
  • Maughlin the Armourer adds the Penal set
  • With all four great souls, warp to Ruined Fork Road in Shaded Woods and take the left archway toward the Shrine of Winter
  • Behind the bridge support on the left: Large Soul of a Proud Knight, Human Effigy and Twinkling Titanite
  • An invisible attacker haunts the next stretch; past it the Dragonslayer's Crescent Axe and a Golden Falcon Shield wait on the ground
  • Through the door, past the serpent shrine, turn right on the winding path for a Soul of a Hero; the other way has a Divine Blessing
  • Take the Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier and Human Effigy, climb the long stairs and find Holy Water Urns behind the boulder; kill the Crystal Lizard
  • NG+: The Lost Sinner calls in two pyromancers mid-fight and drops the Old Witch Soul (Straid: Flame Weapon)
  • NG+: the Shrine of Winter door needs another million souls of current-cycle memory if you skip the great souls
